First time shaving tips

In this guide we'll provide you with some valuable shaving tips when switching to a double edge safety razor. It can be a little daunting at first, especially when you have sensitive skin, but don’t worry! Just remember these essential tips:

  1. Use a shaving brush (like the one that we sell) and a soap bar. Instead of a soap bar you can also use shave cream. You can create a thick foam by dabbing the brush into the shaving soap in a circular motion. Apply the soap or shaving cream to the skin in an upward motion. The brush makes sure the hairs stand tall, making it much easier to shave.
  2. Go slow and steady. Trying to speed through your shave can cause nicks and cuts. Shaving with a safety razor might seem difficult at first, but after a few tries you'll make a smooth transition and break bad shaving habits. The biggest mistake is to shave with a safety razor as though it were a disposable razor.
  3. Less is more. You might be tempted to apply much pressure to get each and every hair, but it's actually making things worse. Less is more when it comes to the amount of pressure you're applying on your safety razor.
